Theology and Exegesis Study of the Book of Romans

Theology and Exegesis Study of the Book of Romans will study this great book with a view to hone our skills as Biblical exegetes and theologians. And that with a view that we may be better Christians, and servants of Christ wherever He has you serving. A careful study of the assigned text will be required for each class. Then class time will be a guided discussion through the text and through the theological issues in the text. We will be learning from each other. At times we will focus on an aspect of systematic theology that the text may address. The aim is that each participant will become more skilled and knowledgeable in the areas of Biblical exegesis, systematic theology, and Biblical theology. Various tools will be introduced that will deepen your study of the Scriptures.

Biblical Counseling (Semester 3)

During our first year we learned about the Biblical authority and necessity for Biblical Counseling. We ended by studying Biblical applications to specific life issues such as anger, depression, and anxiety. We also practiced and developed counseling skills through case studies. The second year will focus on observing experienced counselors interacting with people in similar circumstances that our brothers and sisters might experience. Class participants will pair up and observe counseling videos outside of class. Class time will be spent evaluating the observed counseling sessions.

Proclaiming God's Word

Proclaiming God's Word: "How shall they hear without a preacher?" One of the greatest needs of our day is for Biblical, passionate, clear preaching. The church, our nation, and the small towns and villages of our region are languishing from the lack of good preaching. Where must people go to hear the Word of God opened up with power and ability? Is the internet now the only option? But internet preaching is not live preaching from a man of God whom you know and who is a role model for you in all of life. Our vision is to raise up an army of preachers who will be sent out into our area and bring the Word of God to the people who are in darkness.

Biblical Counseling (Semester 2)

Simply stated Biblical Counseling is based on the premise that man’s problems of living do not originate in brain chemistry but rather in their hearts. Aberrant thinking and aberrant behavior always arise from our fractured relationships with God and with each other. This course will study biblical applications to specific life issues such as anger, depression, and anxiety. Counseling skills will be practiced and developed through case studies.

Biblical Counseling (Semester 1)

Simply stated Biblical Counseling is based on the premise that man’s problems of living do not originate in brain chemistry but rather in their hearts. Aberrant thinking and aberrant behavior always arise from our fractured relationships with God and with each other. In other words, absent a physical cause (think thyroid issue, diabetic complications) our problems and issues arise from sin. The solution to these problems and issues comes from the process of discipleship involving the study and application of God’s inspired, inerrant and infallible Word.

Biblical Exegesis

Biblical Exegesis is a class designed to help God's people open up the Biblical text and to listen to its (God's) message. We will be exploring ways to study the Bible in depth: to outline a text, to do word studies, to study historical backgrounds, and by learning Biblical principles for properly interpreting the text and applying it. All with a view to training men and women in such a way that will especially help those who have been called to leading, teaching, and preaching ministries in the church.
